Changes in this Release

Version 3.0 is a major release of the Tachyon File Tools product. Changes include:

• Character Set Translation has been improved by new environment variables to set the specific ASCII and EBCDIC code pages in use. The old translation table files and the -trtab command line options are no longer used by the Tachyon File Tools programs.

• As a result of using the new code page based translation, the EBCDIC national code points X'5B', X'7B' and X'7C' no longer need to be assigned to the '$', '#' and '@' characters respectively. In addition, if a valid ASCII translation exists for the EBCDIC X'C0' code point, that character may be used in data set names.

• Tachyon Re-Xmit now supports creation of TSO TRANSMIT files for partitioned data sets on 9345 devices.
