March 31, 2001:
Tachyon Software is pleased to announce the availablity of version 2.1 of the
Tachyon Assembler Workbench.
The Tachyon Assembler Workbench includes all new versions of
Tachyon File Tools and
the Tachyon Operating System.
In addition,
the Developers Edition and Advanced Edition of the Tachyon Assembler
Workbench are now available for Linux for S/390 and zSeries.
Tachyon File Tools 2.1 now includes an new utility that creates TSO TRANSMIT files. You can now upload workstation files to mainframe data sets in formats not normally supported by file transfer programs, including those with variable length and undefined records. You can transmit entire sets of workstation files to the mainframe as partitioned data set members. When you link your programs on your workstation using the Tachyon Linkage Editor, you can even upload the load modules directly into an OS/390 PDS load library!
Tachyon Operating System 2.1 now provides a way to test 64-bit z/Architecture programs on your workstation. The new Tachyon Instruction Emulator can run in architecture level 2 with 64-bit addressing mode, general registers, control registers and even the IARV64 service. You can now test programs that use the new z/Architecture instructions without the need for a new mainframe!
If you dont yet have a copy of the Tachyon Assembler Workbench, you can download a demonstration copy and try it for yourself. If you are already licensed for these products, download the updates today!
