System Requirements

The Tachyon File Tools product is available for Microsoft Windows and Linux (Intel). It also may be available for some UNIX systems.

Windows System Requirements

• A system capable of running Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.0 or later.
• Available hard drive space of 1 megabyte for the product files.
• Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer is required to view the User’s Guide.
• Symantec’s Java Native Runtime is required to use the Tachyon Un-Xmit Graphical User Interface. This requires about 22 megabytes of disk space. Without the Java Native Runtime, the full function of Tachyon Un-Xmit is available though the command line interface.
• The Tachyon Operating System is required to use the Tachyon Update Utility JCL Interface. Without the Tachyon Operating System, the full function of the Tachyon Update Utility is available through the command line interface.
