This chapter describes the steps required to install and set up the Tachyon 390 Cross Assembler and Tachyon z/Assembler in various environments. The setup and most of the characteristics of the two Tachyon assemblers are identical. In this guide, wherever no distiction needs to be made detween the Tachyon 390 Cross Assembler and the Tachyon z/Assembler, they are referred to as the “Tachyon assembler” or simply “the assembler”.
